My name is Summer and I was a PhD student at Old Dominion University in the English department with an emphasis in Video Game Studies. This blog started off as a site to post my coursework/reading notes for a course I was taking, “Theories of Networks”, co-taught by Dr Rochelle Rodrigo and Dr Julia Romberger, as well as a few other video game journal entries for my “Writing With (For, In, and Against) Computer Games” course with Dr Kevin Moberly. The Fall 2014 semester was geared towards my “New Media” course taught by Dr Rodrigo and “Digital Humanities” course taught by Dr David Roh, and my assistantship work with the front page of Media Commons.. For this semester, Spring 2015, I will be blogging for my “Visual Rhetoric” course by Dr Romberger. I’m trying not to be too nervous about my new responsibilities, but pressure is what doctoral programs are all about, right?
